The
word JIB was originally coined by snowboarders to describe
a certain style of riding. Rail grinding, sessioning
half pipes, and boosting huge tricks off of jumps were
all considered JIBBING. Through time, JIBBING came to
be known as trick oriented riding in man made environments.
And while trials riders, North Shore riders, and a handful
of urban mountain bikers have been JIBBING for years,
only recently has this discipline of riding gained enough
momentum to finally be given its own name. JIB, the
new video from Thor Wixom, is the first video of its
kind...and the only video dedicated entirely to capturing
the essence of the JIB movement.

crew has made it their mission to bring the world of
MTB to a level that can be awed and respected by the
new school sports world. This is one crew that seperates

The kamikaze downhill has a reputation for being the
fastest mountain bike race in the world. But due to
summer time construction, the course had to be closed
and a new downhill was created -the Bullet. The Bullet
offers extreme mountain biking at its best. Instead
of flat out speed, the course is technical. Six foot
drops, huge boulders and tight turns have made the Bullet
a legend. And so have the spectacular wipe-outs along
this demanding course.
This
film is a look at what it takes to get down this grueling
course plus the other events of the Mammoth Mountain
Bike Races. Dual slalom madness, Tricky trials, and
an examination of rider style, plus the outrageous crashes
the Kamikaze pilots are known for.
See for yourself in this action-packed, crash-filled
mountain bike extravaganza.

This
is exactly what we've been waiting for! Finally, someone
has taken the format that's been so successful in BMX
videos and applied it to mountain biking. Funny parts
of the video weren't the cheesy staged bits that seem
rampant in most MTB videos. This video has an amazing
soundtrack with bands like Op Ivy, Boy Sets, Fire, Hatebreed
and Fugazi. The articles were entertaining, the camera
angles creative, the editing was excellent and the footage
is a good representation of the current progression of
mountain biking. Honestly, this video just made us want
to go out and ride. Kirt Voreis and Steve Peat share the
SPOTLIGHT in Issue 2. Also features other world class
riders like Jesse Roberts, Dave Wardell, Nigel Page, Shaums
March, and Andy Pope in the Torque MELTING POT. RACES
covered in this video include the World Cup in Sweden
and highlights from Sea Otter. Bobby Holliday gives riding
tips on "Manuals" and fork basics are covered
by Stratos. Shock designer & manufacturer, Stratos,
is also highlighted in the INDUSTRY section of Torque's
Issue 2.
